our first vintage…
Château Sainte Barbe
We seek to obtain the best blend of our plots of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot to obtain a complex wine, structured, fruity and full of curves thanks to a beautiful maturity of the grapes harvested.
The whole will be supported by a French oak aging of 18 months to provide additional complexity and increased aging capacity.
The dishes elsewhere in the body are in perfect harmony with this wine, such as meats in sauce, red meats and cheeses.

Tasting Notes
Yves Beck, 07.04.18
Purplish purple. Intense bouquet marked by roasting; freshly ground coffee and hazelnuts. On the palate, the wine has the support of liveliness, which allows the fruit to express itself. The tannins give a slight sweet note at the end of the mouth and are in adequacy with the acidity. A wine that we can appreciate in its youth, hoping that the fruit manages to break through the nose during breeding.
Tasting period: 2021-2028 Rating: 89/100
Le point Supplément, 24/05/2018

84% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc. Red garnet with purplish highlights. Filigree bouquet, complex, elegant notes of candied fruit. Attack fond, silky. Many of freshness in the mouth. The palate reveals the fruit better than the nose, which is not really a problem. A pleasant wine that can be enjoyed in its youth and has good potential.

The nose is aromatic, fresh and offers a fine concentration as well as power. It reveals notes of fresh blackberry, wild berries and fine notes of raspberry / fresh red / ripe berries combined with hints of mentholated licorice as well as discrete spikes of green cardamom.
The palate is fruity, juicy, balanced and offers a nice minerality, a good freshness, good acidity, good roundness and depth. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, cassis and fine notes of black cherry, raspberry, fresh strawberry / blackberry associated with discreet hints of liquorice, fennel and a discreet hint of wood. The tannins are fine, slightly firm and well led. Good length.
Presence of fine vanilla and toasted tips on persistence.

A blend of 4 grape varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot) for this Bordeaux Superior with a pretty deep ruby color. On the nose, ripe black berries, ripe cherries, plum, a slightly confit side. The mouth is full and supple, with lots of material and a nice balance. In the final, a slight sweet sensation that makes you want to come back as soon as possible. It will be a delight with a nice piece of grilled beef.

Deep garnet red. Bouquet of good intensity, pleasantly fruity with notes of sour cherries and a slight smoke note. Passionate attack revealing the breeding of wine. Spicy, ripe black fruit nose, generous mouth, quality tannins
Comments preselections: Dress with beautiful deep color, melted and aromatic woody nose.
Prix Plaisir Bettane & Desseauve, 04/2018
“The nose is powerful, the attack frank and greedy, fruit and pep’s!”
Guide D.V.E, 04/2018
Deep ruby color, still youthful with purplish purple hues, limpid and brilliant, with a certain viscosity, beautiful presentation, seductive, expressive nose, harmoniously blends aromas of juicy black berries (blackberry, black cherry, blackcurrant). blueberry) with liquorice and woody fragrances, the aeration is enriched with notes of stone fruit but also with chocolate, smoky and toasty notes.Very nice fine and racy mouth, the attack is full, round and fleshy it restores perfectly the little black berries bursting with sun from the nose, with the evolution we have a more powerful wine with a beautiful material that integrates without difficulty the tannic structure. The whole enjoys a nice balance and it is the feeling of harmony This is even more important if the finish is a little firmer, and on the second part of the mouth are notes of aging that are still going to be tied in. A fairly long finish on spices, chocolate and vanilla.”
D.V.E. : Bordeaux Superior with a quality material it will still settle. Good representative of the appellation

Here is a beautiful Bordeaux Superior 2015, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc on alluvial soils (clay, silica, gravel), colorful, a pretty dark red color, with a broad bouquet, with liquorice and blackberry aromas, with well-melted tannins, where black cherries and palate humus are intertwined

Yves Beck – Beckustator – Primeurs 2014
Purple garnet. Spicy and floral bouquet. Notes of grenadine. Attack nice, charming. The wine does not have much depth but it has a nice touch and balance. Fine tannins, slightly grainy, and elegant structure that has enough vivacity to guarantee evolution. Good persistence of the final. Bravo, Good gurgling.

Guide D.V.E, 04/2017
Deep ruby color with hints of cherry bigarreau, limpid shiny, with a certain viscosity. Short and multiple tears on the walls. The clean nose develops fruity flavors (ripe and even slightly jammy red and black fruits), notes of Zan and above all a woody register where fragrances on the cocoa bean, ground coffee and roasting are fully expressed. . The aeration adds notes of slightly macerated stone fruits but also chocolate notes and sweet spices. On the palate it is a Bordeaux Superior of a good concentration with a full attack, full, velvety, where we find these flavors of fruit liqueur. Evolution has a more robust wine, even if the feeling of harmony remains in place. Quality tannins are present and well integrated in this opulent flesh. The whole is of a good balance between the sap and these woody notes (cocoa, spices, chocolate)
D.V.E. : Bordeaux Superior of high flute already pleasant but which has possibilities to evolve favorably
Service Temperature: between 16-18 ° C. Duration of Care: in 4 to 5 years – Rating: 89/100
Yves Beck – Cercle Rive Droite

Filigree bouquet, fruity and mineral touches.
The appetizer is fond and of good intensity.
The body is balanced and reveals well integrated tannins, in synthesis with the structure.
A wine of good quality, to drink in its youth but has a little potential for keeping.
Now-2023. 87/100
Le guide Hachette des vins 2018
A beautiful aromatic expression (slightly candied fruit) for this seductive wine.
A soft and round attack opens on a palate of beautiful concentration; tannins still a little tight reinforce and promise a good aging ability.

Guide Dussert-Gerber 2017, 04/04/2017
The 2014 has very ripe black fruit and spicy notes, classic mouth, full-bodied and fat, tannins well present and melted at once, a vintage already charming but very good.
Vinogusto, 01/09/2015
Winner Vinogusto tasting committee of September 2015. 15/20 – A very nice bottle, a little above the lot. Deep and concentrated dress. Very aromatic nose of black berries, roasting and spices. A full mouth, with fine tannins, acidity, and an alcohol not yet fully integrated. Long finish, lively, spicy. A bottle that deserves 2-3 years of patience and will probably show a good aging potential. Nice!
Guide 2017, 21/2015
“The wine has a beautiful deep red color, the fruit is ripe, the tannins are velvety, a dense and balanced vintage.”
Guide Dussert-Gerber 2018, 2019 07/09/16, 05/09/19
The 2013, with silky tannins, subtle and ample bouquet (violet, prune), a very balanced wine of mouth, is all in roundness.
Guide D.V.E, 06/2016
Dress still ruby, deep with reflections on cherry bigarreau, bright and limpid, with a certain viscosity, beautiful presentation. The nose is expressive and elegant, it develops aromas of jammy red and black fruits (cherry, blackberry, strawberry); Then come farmhouse touches reminiscent of the cocoa bean, coffee with milk, roasting and sweet spices (vanilla). Nice mouth, we are pleasantly surprised with a full, full and fleshy attack that restores a crunchy fruity expression. The evolution shows a greater power and concentration for our greatest pleasure, the flesh has no difficulty in integrating tannins still present but quality. The whole is racy and although still a bit firm we can promise him a bright future. At the end of the mouth are notes of mocha, chocolate, roasting and sweet spices that persist on the finish.
D.V.E. : Bordeaux superior that has everything a big.
90/100
Guide Hachette 2016, 09/2015
“Born on the palus on the banks of the Garonne, 18 months old, this 2012 impresses from the start, as much by the depth of its purple-colored dress as by the power, the harmony and the complexity of its nose; as it aeration, it releases notes of red fruit, spicy woody and even fresh leather. At the onset, the mouth reveals a frame both generous and elegant, evolving on a plot of cocoa tannins tight but mature The woody enhances the whole with the desired discretion A lasting harmony “Pinnacle suggested: 2018-2021, Suggestion of greedy agreement: Cote de boeuf
Médaille d’Or au Concours Agricole Général de Paris, 23/02/2015
Beautiful dress doll, nice nose fine and distinguished, beautiful intensity, complex mouth, pretty tannins well melted.
Revue du Vin de France – Spécial millésime 2012, 10/2014
Exceptional success.
A lot of color but a fine extraction on a frank, full and gently wooded fruit. Gourmand and structured, this is the image of a good classic Bordeaux.
Bernard Burtschy. Le Figaro club vin, 2013
A beautiful burgundy beautifully built on the merlot, good length. Pretty success.
Guide des vins D.V.E, 03/2015
Deep ruby color of a beautiful youth with purplish purple shades, limpid and brilliant; we appreciate its jamb on the walls of the glass. The nose has charm and finesse, it is very supportive and harmoniously combines fruity flavors (strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, cherry and blueberry) with liquorice and woody fragrances. The aeration confirms its aging which is expressed on tones of mocha, ground coffee, roasting but also on toasted and toasted fragrances. In the mouth, very nice attack, of a good volume, ample and velvety, which restores the fruits which express themselves with sharpness and precision. The evolution is seductive with a fine and polished material that incorporates tannins present (but of quality) that will melt without difficulty. The whole is harmonious, racy, with a lingering finish of blackcurrant, spice, mocha, cocoa bean and toasty notes.
Rating: 89/100

Nice Bordeaux Supérieur 2012, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, with a strong color, soft and well-balanced tannins, a blackberry nose, a harmonious and persistent mouth.
Les bonnes affaires du vin 2016, Gerbelle & Maurange, RVF
A delicious upper Bordeaux with a woody seductive and flattering nose and mouth. His beautiful material is full and dense with length. You will appreciate this modern and well-developed wine.
Guide Hachette 2015, 05/09/2014
“Some reflections of evolution in the dress of this 2011. Nose intense and frank, especially marked by woody nuances: roasted coffee, grilled almond and even a touch of cedar. On the palate, jammy fruit bursts under the woody, always dominant. A full-bodied and rich wine, with strong tannins, still alive, needs to blend. Character. “
To drink: 2016-2020 ideal on rib steak.
Revue du Vin de France – 2015, 08/2014
We already enjoyed the simple red burgundy. A notch above, in a more flattering register, the expression is marked by the softness of the barrel with an elegant and suave matter. Spicy style in the finish.

“Black fruits, with intense extraction and tannins more evident than many in the tasting. The fruit goes on to fall, black variety, with blackberries, quetsches, rich fruit fruit compotes, 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Directed by Antoine Touton. Bordeaux Superior well known, and with reason. To drink between 2013 and 2020 »
Prix des Vinalies, 12/2013
“His dress is black with purple hues. The nose is intense and pleasant, with notes of vanilla, coffee and roasting. The palate is very concentrated, with tannins still young and drying. Forget this wine in your cellar for a while. “
Guide des vins D.V.E, 12/2013
“A dress still ruby with some violet notes witnessing a beautiful youth, limpid and bright, tears on the edge of the glass. Very engaging nose; we appreciate the successful marriage between the fruity aromas (raspberry, cherry, blackberry, sloe) and woody aromas that take the tones on the cocoa bean and roasted toasted notes. We appreciate in this nose a well-controlled breeding that does not crush the fruit and lets it express itself. We have a full, full, velvety and fleshy attack with a crunchy fruitiness. The evolution although more powerful is harmonious, the material is fine and racy with a tannic structure is still present but of good quality. The whole is attractive, enveloping and of a good volume; we appreciate its good aromatic intensity and the purity of its fruit to a slightly firmer finish in which we find these farm notes and spices.
1001 Dégustations, 03/03/2014
“Dark dress heralding aromas of coffee and roasting. The breeding is marked, it must be allowed a little time to blend. Potential. “

The level goes up in this property that starts to talk about it. We like the approach tender with a fine structure nothing framing the whole. The fruit is voluminous and ample while keeping a beautiful precision. It is a very beautiful work!

“Sustained dress. Classic nose of ripe red and black fruits, with slightly smoky notes. A fleshy style, quite fleshy, melted, presenting a good balance. The fruit gives way to a more woody finish. To be savored on a roast beef. “

Château Sainte Barbe 2005 was awarded two stars (remarkable wine). “This wine continues to keep its two stars from one year to another, a proof of its example of regularity. Composed of 20% Cabernet grapes, Merlot from a clay soil dominates this vintage with its dark red color that gives more spicy and resinous flavors associated with ripe red fruits. Volume, roundness, fruity: the palette is durable, structured with solid tannins but coated the lingering finish leaves a smooth burgundy impression. This wine can wait two or three years. “
